Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Lismore Castle Gardens & Arrival in Waterford
Depart from Ashling Hotel, Dublin City and travel south to the beautiful Lismore Castle Gardens. These historic gardens stretch across seven acres within the castle walls and offer stunning views across the Blackwater Valley.
Following your guided visit, continue to Dooley’s Hotel in Waterford City, where you will enjoy a comfortable two-night stay with dinner and breakfast each morning. Located overlooking the River Suir, this family-run hotel offers a warm welcome in the centre of Ireland’s oldest city.
Day 2 – Japanese Gardens, Copper Coast & Mount Congreve
Today begins with a guided visit to the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens in Tramore, a unique garden experience inspired by the life journey of the celebrated writer Patrick Lafcadio Hearn.
Next, enjoy a scenic drive along the breathtaking Copper Coast, a UNESCO Global Geopark famous for its dramatic cliffs, coves and coastal landscapes.
Later, visit the magnificent Mount Congreve Gardens, one of Ireland’s great horticultural treasures. Set within a stunning estate along the River Suir, these gardens feature sweeping woodland walks, vibrant seasonal planting and a remarkable collection of plants from around the world.
Return to Dooley’s Hotel for dinner and another relaxing evening.
Day 3 – Altamont Gardens & Arboretum Carlow
After breakfast, travel to the enchanting Altamont Gardens, often described as one of Ireland’s most romantic gardens. Enjoy a guided tour through its beautifully designed grounds featuring rare trees, colourful borders, formal lawns and riverside walks along the River Slaney.
Your final stop is Arboretum Carlow, where you can explore inspiring display gardens, browse the garden centre or relax with refreshments in Rachel’s Garden Café before returning to Dublin.
